Magic Mesh Board License
Last updated: v2026-08-04 · Operated by DigiDom Advanced Technology
The terms of sale for a Magic Mesh board license. You tick a box to agree to them before you pay.
These terms cover a Magic Mesh board license, whether you buy it by itself for a board you own or it comes with a Magic Mesh radio bought from us. They apply together with our Terms of Service and Refund & Cancellation policy. Where they differ about Magic Mesh firmware, these terms decide. Version of these terms: 2026-10-07.
What you are buying
A license to run Magic Mesh firmware on one board. The firmware is licensed to you, not sold. You own your board; we own the firmware and everything in it. One license covers one board, and the license belongs to the Magic PTT account that bought it.
What you may do
- Put Magic Mesh firmware on the one board the license is for, using Magic PTT Desktop.
- Use that board on the mesh networks it supports and link it to Magic Mesh through Magic PTT.
- Take the firmware updates we release for it.
What you may not do
- Copy the firmware off a board, or copy the firmware file, or let anyone else do so.
- Take the firmware apart: no reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembling, and no reading out of keys.
- Change the firmware, or build something from it or from what you learned by examining it.
- Pass the firmware on, sell it, rent it, publish it, or put it on a board that has no license.
- Get around, switch off or weaken anything that protects the firmware or checks the license.
- Move a license to another person or another account without our written agreement.
How the firmware protects itself
Magic Mesh firmware may lock the board it runs on so that what the board holds cannot be read out or replaced through the USB cable. This lock is made inside the board's chip. It is permanent: neither you nor we can undo it. A locked board cannot be put back to the software it came with, a backup taken earlier cannot be written back to it, and other flashing tools will no longer work on it. It keeps taking Magic Mesh updates. By buying a license you accept that a board running Magic Mesh may be locked in this way.
Boards it works on
Only the boards listed on the Magic Mesh page at the time you buy. Check what you have before you pay. A license bought for a board that is not on the list does not make that board work, and is not a reason for a refund once it has been used.
Flashing is at your own risk
You flash your own board. Putting new software on any device carries risk: if the cable is pulled, the power drops or the computer sleeps partway through, the board can be left unable to start. That risk is yours. We do not repair or replace a board you flashed.
What it needs to work
Linking a board to other Magic Mesh places, managing it from Magic PTT and receiving updates all go through the Magic PTT service and need an active Magic PTT membership. Features can change as the firmware and the service develop. You are responsible for using your board within the radio rules that apply where you are.
Price and refunds
A license is paid once, at the price shown before you pay. A license is for firmware, so it cannot be returned or refunded once it has been used on a board. If you bought one by mistake and have not used it, write to support@magicptt.com.
If these terms are broken
If you break these terms, your license ends. We may then stop the board from linking to Magic Mesh through Magic PTT and from receiving updates, without a refund. The parts of these terms that protect the firmware continue after a license ends.
Ownership and names
Magic Mesh firmware and software © 2026 Dominic Landucci. All rights reserved. The firmware also contains our confidential know-how; you agree to keep it confidential and not to disclose anything you learn about how it works inside. Magic PTT™ and Magic Mesh™ are our trademarks and may not be used for another product or service. Meshtastic is a registered trademark of Meshtastic LLC, and MeshCore is the name of its own project. Magic Mesh works with both networks and is not made or endorsed by either.
The firmware includes some software components written by others and used under their own licenses. Those licenses, not these terms, govern those components.
No warranty
The firmware is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be free of faults or fit for a particular purpose, and the limits on our liability in the Terms of Service apply to it. Do not rely on it as your only means of calling for help.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, United States. We may update them for future purchases; the version you agreed to when you paid is the one that applies to that license. Questions: legal@magicptt.com.
