On Magic PTT Desktop, the SL switch drops you into the emergency shell: a hard cutover to our separate SL servers. Everyday Nexus rooms and Welcome Desk stay on the main network. SL is for when you need the lifeline, not for casual nets.
Starlink / Starlink Mini
Keep Starlink or Starlink Mini ready. When terrestrial fiber or local internet is gone, the SL design is you → satellite → our emergency servers. We do not park this path behind a third-party VoIP middleman or a borrowed VPS nose. The emergency path is ours.

Honest status
SL is an ops-proven emergency design: Desktop switch, allowlisted testers, separate emergency servers. Starlink attach and wider member rollout continue as we harden the dish path. The promise stays the same — when SL is in your hands, it is you and Magic PTT, not a rented middle layer.
